Bee Hotel Workshop with Wild Oxfordshire
We’re always looking for ways to bring our community together while supporting local environmental initiatives. That’s why we were so excited to host a recent tenant event in partnership with the wonderful team at Wild Oxfordshire — a workshop focused on supporting one of nature’s smallest (and most important!) pollinators: the solitary bee.
Building a Home for Bees 🐝
Held in one of our communal green spaces, the event invited tenants to roll up their sleeves and get creative. With a table full of recycled bottles, old bamboo canes, and plenty of imagination, participants built their own bee hotels — small, cozy shelters that solitary bees can use to rest and lay their eggs.
Unlike the well-known honeybee, solitary bees (like mason and leafcutter bees) don’t live in hives. Instead, they seek out small holes and crevices in wood or hollow stems — places that are increasingly hard to find in urban environments. That’s where bee hotels come in, offering a vital sanctuary for these gentle pollinators.
Small Actions, Big Impact 🌱
We’re so grateful to Wild Oxfordshire for their time, expertise, and enthusiasm, and to all of our tenants who took part. Events like these show how community and sustainability can go hand-in-hand — and how even small actions, like building a bee hotel, can make a real difference.
Stay tuned for more community events coming soon!
