Cowley Road, Iffley Road and St Clements are located just off The Plain, and are the start of the East Oxford area. They are vibrant, multicultural areas, popular with students and young professionals.
There are a number of quirky bars, restaurants and shops found in the area. With an independent cinema and the O2 Academy Nightclub which is Oxford’s main live music venue.
Cowley Road is home to the annual Carnival, which takes place on the first Sunday of July. The Carnival is a celebration of the individuality and the bringing together different cultures within the Oxford community.
The Oxford Science and Business Park are also found in East Oxford, with companies such as Blackwell Publishing, Oxfam and British Gas residing here.
Local landmarks include the Mini factory and Iffley Road Sports Ground where the first 4 minute mile was run by Sir Roger Banister in 1954.

East Oxford is within easy access of Oxford City centre, train station, Oxford Brookes and Oxford Business Park. You can also catch either the X90 or Oxford Tube, on St Clements, which takes you directly into central London.
